How I Got Started With Boudoir

In 2015 I started my undergrad in Studio Art at the University of Guelph. Years of practicing contemporary art and studying art history really changed the way I see people. I learned to see the form of the human body as an expressive artform. This fueled my desire to help people see themselves differently.

After doing one practice boudoir shoot with one of our friends I immediately saw the changing effect it had on them. That's when I fully realized how boudoir photography can be a catalyst for your self-love and confidence journey.

Brand and Web Design at Hiraya

When I'm not at a boudoir shoot I spend working time as a brand designer. My wife Ariana and I co-created Hiraya Creative Co., a branding agency helping small businesses achieve their branding goals. I specialize in creating fun and energetic brand identities and websites for creative entrepreneurs. I also occasionally do small video projects for our clients.

My Journey

Fast forward 2 years and here we are. Once I felt confident that Hiraya was up and running smoothly I decided it was time to get back into boudoir photography. I missed the fun and energetic environment of the shoots. I wanted to get back to helping people on their self-love journeys and changing the way they see themselves. All I have to say is that IT'S GOOD TO BE BACK!

2025 - boudoir revival

While studying in the University of Guelph Studio Art program I took an interest in Boudoir Photography. I started learning about it and practicing my craft. I used this time to do portfolio shoots and networking.

2018 - getting started

When I felt confident and ready I designed myself a simple boudoir website and started posting my work on social media. I officially branded myself as a boudoir photographer.

2019 - Official Launch

After a few amazing years of  boudoir photography I started to get worn out by the business and marketing side of things. This resulted in a drop in clientele and revenue. I decided to shift my services to branding video to compliment my wife Ariana's branding photography. Additionally I started taking on occasional web design projects.

2022 - pivoting

After a year of offering complimentary branding services, my wife Ariana and I decided it was time to incorporate. We formed Hiraya Creative Co. to be a unified front for all of our 4 branding services: photo, video, brand design, and web design. During this time I felt it was necessary to take a step back from boudoir photography to establish this new part of our business.
